Check availability
$ curl -s -X POST https://tld.werd.sh/v1/check \
-H 'content-type: application/json' \
-d '{"domains": ["quillforge.com", "quillforge.dev"], "keywords": ["quill"]}'
Send up to 50 domains per request. Optional fields:
keywordsadds keyword relevance to each score.tldssets the TLD priority order used for scoring. By default it follows the order of your domains.
The response is the same JSON that tld check -o json --all prints:
summary: the counts.names: one row per name, showing which TLDs are free and which are taken.results: one row per domain, with availability, first-year and renewal price, minimum term, score, notes andregister_url.affiliate: whether links are affiliate links, plus the disclosure to show next to them.
Prices
$ curl -s 'https://tld.werd.sh/v1/prices?tlds=com,dev,ai'
This returns the first-year, renewal and list price, minimum term and ICANN fee for each TLD. Leave out tlds to get all ~570 TLDs.
Logo concepts
$ curl -s 'https://tld.werd.sh/v1/logo/fridgefork.svg?style=wordmark&tld=com&text=FridgeFork'
This returns a vector logo concept for any name, as an SVG with real letterforms (no fonts needed to view it). The parameters:
style:icon,badge(the default),wordmark,stackormono.tld: adds the extension to the wordmark.text: sets the casing, e.g.FridgeFork.variant(0–999): shows alternative palettes, fonts and shapes.theme=dark: light text, for dark backgrounds.
The same request always returns the same logo. Logo requests are limited to 240 a minute and don't count toward the search limits.
Limits
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Requests per client IP | 30 a minute, 600 a day |
| Domains per request | 50 |
| Request body | 16 KB |
| Caching | Availability 60 seconds, prices 24 hours |
Over the limit you get HTTP 429 with a Retry-After header. At peak times the shared registrar budget can also return 503 upstream_busy. Every error is JSON in the form {"error": "...", "code": "..."}.
Best-effort service
The API is free and has no uptime guarantee. For heavy use, run the CLI with your own Namecheap key, or self-host the API on any host with a fixed outbound IPv4.
